How to get a top ranking In Google

The truth is that there is no magic trick that will land you in one of the top five slots. Maybe there used to be a back way in, but Google has made sure that nobody jumps rank by using tricks.

However, there are some techniques to achieve a higher ranking, they are logical and will help your site go up the ladder.

Google awards well structured and interesting sites. Whenever anyone clicks on a page listed in Google, they are in effect voting for the site. This popularity based strategy is common sense … but don’t start wildly clicking on your own site a hundred times. Google can detect when a single user is doing this and it is, in fact, penalized. Google has studied their webpage merit system well and for every way in which a site advances, the inverse happens if they detect shortcut tricks.

Another example has to do with page rank. Page rank has to do with how many other pages link to your site. However if the links are reciprocal, Google does not consider them valid.

• If your site is complex, create a map.
• Make sure the content is clear and correct.
• Make sure that the key search words that people will use to find the site, are actually included within the site’s text
• Use the tag ALT and TITLE in the html for images and descriptive content.
• ake sure your links are all working and there is no incorrect html.
• Make pages for human users not for search robots.
• Avoid using tricks that will attract search engines. Ask yourself!” Would I do this if it weren’t for search engines?”.
• Avoid linking to dubious sites, undesirable links may have a negative impact on your ranking.
• Don’t use unauthorized programs to check ranking or to send pages, as they may violate the terms of service as established by Google. Google recommends not using products such as Position Gold™ that mail out automatic inquiries or Google programming.
